WT2200 FAQS:       

 

1.      How do I turn ON/OFF the backlight on a Chameleon RF WT-2200?

      To turn off the backlight ON or OFF, press <LAMP> (Left Alpha then Help). The backlight also turns off when the wrist computer is powered off or when an application-set timeout occurs.

 

 2.      How do I adjust the screen’s contrast on a Chameleon RF WT-2200? 

The screen’s contrast is adjustable, making the display more readable in different lighting conditions, and at various temperatures.       

·         To increase (darken) display contrast by one step, press <FUNC, then Space>.

·         To decrease (lighten) display contras by one step, press <FUNC, then  BKSP>.   

3.      How do I create an ALT character on a Chameleon RF WT-2200? 

Pressing the FUNC key followed by <Right Alpha Shift> produces ALT characters, with the same effect as pressing the ALT key on a PC.   

4.   How do I activate/deactivate the CAPS LOCK function on the Chameleon RF WT-2200?

   Pressing the FUNC key followed by <Left Alpha Shift> activates/deactivates the Caps Lock function.

 

5.      How do I TAB on a Chameleon RF WT-2200? 

Pressing the ENTER key followed by the <Left Alpha Shift> produces a TAB function.   

6.      What are the keyboard states on a Chameleon RF™ WT-2200? 

The keyboard states are listed below, in the order in which they take priority:

        Unshifted

        Shifted

        Function

        Control

        Left Shift or Right Shift   

7.      My ChameleonRF™ WT-2200 will not power off when pressing the PWR key. 

If pressing the PWR key does not turn off the terminal, force the power off to reduce battery drain and preserve your data.  To force the power off, press and hold the PWR key for 15 seconds, until the terminal powers down.   

8.      How do I restart my Chameleon RF WT-2200 after a forced power off? 

When a terminal is powered off because of software or hardware failure, use the following methods to restart:

·         Use the warm-boot procedure for a software failure. (See Chameleon RF FAQs and Setup Procedures)

·         When a warm boot fails, use the cold-boot procedure. (See Chameleon RF FAQs and Setup Procedures)   

9.      Nothing happens when I try to scan a barcode? 

·         Check the system power.

·         Verify that the scanner is programmed to read the symbology you are trying to read.

·         Try scanning a test symbol of the symbology you trying to read.

·         Check the bar code to ensure that it is not defaced.  A defaced bar code may not be readable.

·         Check to see that you are scanning from the proper distance.   

10.  The laser does not activate?

  • The application you are using may not support an active scanner.

  • Check your application settings to make sure the scanner is enabled.

  • You may have exceeded the allowable amount of scanning activity within the limits of your laser class of operation; in this case, wait for a short interval before scanning again

  • You may be scanning in an inappropriately hot environment. If so, remove the equipment from the environment or allow the laser to cool down.
